Brian Larson


Brian loves teaching yoga and its secular version, which he calls "mindful movement and breath." (See his blog post to learn more about the difference.) He guides people to approach their bodies and minds with a stance of inquiry and to develop a sense of increased well-being. His philosophy of teaching is grounded in human anatomy and kinesiology and in contemporary cognitive science’s understanding that mind and body are inextricably entwined.

Brian targets instruction particularly toward professionals in high-stress fields, including law and business management, and toward older persons, among whom he now counts himself. His mission, however, is to share the benefits of mindful movement as widely as possible.

Brian, a Shriya.Yoga employee, uses a fusion of contemporary hatha yoga's movement and breathing disciplines. He is a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance.
